CIC battle the federal gov’t expel of UN SRGS

The Council of Inter-state cooperation (CIC) has condemned the deadly attack that targeted the AU and UN compound at the capital Mogadishu on January 01, 2019, the council has also condemned the car bombing attack at the National Theatre that killed innocent citizens

In a press statement issued the council has criticized the central government of Somalia for not bringing resilience of security and Stabilization in the country but created direct interference during the election of the Southwest State of Somalia that has caused demonstrations which resulted deaths, injuries and public displacement,” reads the statement.

The council has welcomed and fully supports the International Community’s declaration on December 30, 2018, especially from the office of the UN SRGS for demanding the FGS about the killings of Baidoa, but the central government responded in a wicked action to expel the UN SRGS from the country which will never be any interest for the people of Somalia.

“We have fully opposed the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Somalia on Jan 01, 2019 to expel the UN envoy Mr Nicholas Haysom from the country after examining the current security and political situation of the country,” reads the statement.

Finally, the Council calls the international community not to stop supporting the Somali people who are currently in difficult situations and also recalls the Foreign Affairs Committee of the two Houses of the Parliament of Somalia to do careful decisions for the country.
