Clashes between government forces and Al-shabab embarks in areas under Awdinle district

At least three people died and dozens wounded after government forces backed by AMISOM and Al-shabab clashed in the outskirts of Awdinle district in Bay region earlier today.

The fighting between the sides embarked after government forces and AMISOM attacked Al-shabab controlled areas under Awdinle district.

Government officials in Bay region have immediately claimed victory over the clashes and vowed to continue the planned operation against Al-shabab so as take over the remaining.

Al-shabab declined to give comment about these clashes in Bay region.
