COVID-19 deaths in Somalia near the 1000 mark

GOOBJOOG NEWS|SOMALIA: Somalia has recorded a near two-digit consistency of deaths from covid-19 this week as official figures from the disease near the 1000 mark.

A record of 48 hours released by the Ministry of Health Wednesday indicated that 11 people had succumbed to the disease bringing the national tally to 938.

Out of 2425 tests, 124 people tested positive for the disease with most of the cases captured in Puntland (54) and Banaadir (50). Others are Somaliland (14), Galmudug (5) while South West had one case.

The new figures now take the total number of those who have contracted the disease to 17,016.

A further 71 people recovered adding to a cumulative tally of recoveries to 8212. Based on the records, it means the country currently managing about 9,000 active cases.
