El-WAk Locals Drill Borehole

For the first time since Somali government deposed early 1990s , massive aquifer has been discovered in El-Wak town of Gedo region.
The borehole on the aquifer sits upon 45 mitres and pumps clean water.
Sanay Shaale, a trader in Elwak district who has taken part the contribution to drill the well has told Goobjoog News that after they seen the scarcity of Water in areas and little dirty water caused water borne diseases, they decided drill the well for the community.
The residents have been facing water shortages since before and after Siayad barre’s government.
