Civil society organisations in the country have called for a speedy and amicable resolution to the political impasse in the country noting millions of Somalis who are facing starvation need urgent attention.
In a statement Friday 40 civil society organisations also warned against any activities which could lead into instability in the country.
The organisations asked politicians to ‘be considerate of Somalis who are facing hunger and insecurity’.
President Mohamed Farmaajo should intervene to end to the political crisis, the organisations noted while calling on all actors to accord a chance mediation teams. The Senate formed an ad hoc committee which in its preliminary report Wednesday called on government to withdraw the new security forces in the Lower House and return the previous team.
Proponents of the motion against House Speaker Mohamed Jawari have until tomorrow to table the motion.
