About 35 Al-Shabaab militants were killed in an airstrike by Ethiopian military in the outskirts of Baidoa, Ethiopian state media has said quoting the Defense Department.
Fana Broadcasting quoting a statement from the Defense Department said the Ethiopian forces conducted targeted airstrikes on Al-Shabaab base in Buur Haybe, located 75km east of the south western state capital of Baidoa.
“About 35 Al-Shabaab militants, including operation head in the area, were killed in the airstrike conducted for 44 minutes, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement,” the state media said. Four military vehicles and five high caliber weapons were damaged in the strike.
The strike comes barely ten days after the Ethiopian forces repelled an Al-Shabaab attack in Buur Hakaba in Somalia’s southern Bay Region.
