Fake Al-Shabaab doctor, military officers executed in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Three Al-Shabaab members who disguised themselves as either doctors, serving and former military officers and faciliated several attacks were this morning executed by firing squad.

The court said Mohamed Abdi Nuur Jiirow masqueraded as a doctor going by the moniker Dr Fanah. It was not clear if he was affiliated to any medical facility.

The second convict, Sharif Barqadle Ayanle aka Jeeqo claimed to be a military officer while Mohamed Abkor Omar aka Biyamaalow claimed to have previously worked in the military.

The three convicts used their fake titles to either directly commit attacks or facilitat movement of weapons and Al-Shabaab fighters into the city, the court established.

The three faced the firing squad this morning.
