Farmaajo receives President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at Villa Somalia

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somalia’s outgoing President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has today received the new President-elect Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, at the Villa Somalia. 

President Farmaajo once again congratulated Hassan Sheikh on his election as the 10th President of the Somali Republic and reassured him of a smooth transition as he prepares to leave the highest office in the land in the coming days.

Hassan Sheikh is expected to officially take over as Somalia’s 10th President next week, following a handover ceremony.

According to sources close to the Presidency, Farmajo has appointed a Presidential Transfer Organizing Committee headed by the Director General of the National Presidency Dr. Mohamed Abdullahi Isse, instructing them to immediately start preparations for the handover ceremony.
