Senators and MPs from Galmudug are this morning heading to the Adado in response to last night’s vote which sought the ouster of state president Ahmed Geele Haaf who has been in office for barely four months.

The legislators said they hope to find a solution to the crisis which culminated in the vote conducted in a hotel room Wednesday evening and immediate endorsed by the Federal Government even as Haaf dismissed as unconstitutional.

“We are heading to Adado this morning to find a political solution to the developments in Galmudug. State institutions must operate within the confines of the law,” first deputy Senate speaker Senator Abshir Bukhari told Goobjoog News.

State MPs convened last evening in a hotel in Adado and voted in a majority 52 out of 55 to oust the regional president following a build up of tension in the last one week.

Haaf told reporters last evening the vote was unconstitutional citing the state constitution which he said does not allow a vote of no confidence on the president before the elapse of 6 months after election.
