The first ever technology summit opened in Mogadishu Tuesday bringing together technology entrepreneurs, startups and enthusiasts locally and abroad.
The three days event attracted over 60 technology and media companies in Somalia all exhibiting their products and services in one single most gathering of tech experts in the country.
According to the organisers of the event, IRISE HUB, the event is aimed at leveraging innovation and technology to drive sustainable development in Somalia.
From software development companies to companies tapping on technologies to boost their business such as food delivery, the summit brought to the fore the myriad of opportunities in the technology sector which can be exploited not only for job creation but also provision of solutions both in the private and public sectors.
The summit will also be featuring several speakers locally and foreign. It continues today and concludes tomorrow.
