Five Somali soldiers killed in Al-Shabaab ambush in Middle Shabelle region

Five Somali army soldiers were killed and four others injured when Al-Shabaab militants ambushed a military vehicle from Jowhar heading to Bal’ad in Middle Shabelle region.

Goobjoog News correspondent in Jowhar said the attack happened in Ill-Baaq village which is between Jowhar and Bal’ad. Locals told Goobjoog News the Al-Shabaab fighters fled the area after the ambush.

Meanwhile Somali forces captured five villages in Middle Shabelle region Wednesday. The villages which were until today under Al-Shabaab control are Qordhere, Qorah Madobe, Waraxley, War-Cise and Qab-duco.
