FMS meeting in Garowe put off following quest for PM’s inclusion

Storyline:National News

GOOBJOOG NEWS|GAROWE: A meeting convened by Federal Member State leaders for Garowe today has been postponed after it emerged of the regional presidents insisted on the inclusion of Prime Minister Mohamed Roble.

Sources said Galmudug President Mohamed Qoorqoor called for a delay of the meeting to ensure PM Roble is included in the talks. The FMS leaders announced last week they would be meeting in Garowe today in the absence of PM Roble raising concerns a fault line was forming in the National Consultative Council.

The NCC which brings together the PM and the FMS leaders has been meeting regularly in person and via video conference to oversee the implementation of the elections schedule. However, the fall-out between PM Roble and outgoing president Mohamed Farmaajo may have created divisions within the Council as three of the FMS leaders-Qoorqoor, his South West counterpart Abdiasis Lafta Gareen and HirShabelle’s Ali Gudlawe have been allied to Villa Somalia.

It was not immediately clear when the meeting would resume.
