The administration of Beledweyne has begun distributing food to hundreds of flood and war-affected people in Eel-Jaale village of central Somalia.

Hundreds of beneficiaries from all walks of life waited in long queues at an open field to receive food aid donated by the first wife of Djibouti president, Khadra Mohamed Hayd.

Djibouti ambassador, Dayib Dubad Rooble says they aim at providing food for some 1000 families suffering from severe food shortages.

“This donation is a gift from Djibouti first wife and was meant to assist the needy,” said.

The rice, beans, cereals, flour and vegetable oil were distributed in the area.
