Foreign nationals arrested in Lower Jubba, Somalia

Eight foreigners have been displayed in Kismayo town by the regional administration of Jubbaland who are believed to hail from the countries of Pakistan and Iran.

The foreigners were captured during an operation in Kudha location by jubbaland security soldiers while travelling in a fishing boat.

They are alleged to be fishermen with six of them from Pakistan and the other two from Iran.

An official who has spoken for Jubbaland authority said the eight foreigners will be brought before a court of Law to answer charges against them.

It’s the first time that Jubbland administration apprehended alleged fishermen in the seashores under its jurisdiction.

Somali coastline is the longest in Africa with over 3,300km in length and poorly manned which has made easy for foreign vessels to carry out thriving business activities as well being a dumping site for toxin chemicals that affects the local people health wise.
