Mogadishu mayor lays foundation stone for national polytechnic in Mogadishu

Mogadishu mayor Yusuf Hussein Jama’a has laid the foundation stone for a new national polytechnic in the city, the first since 1990.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony in Shibis district, Mogadishu mayor, Yusuf Hussein Jama’a said that the government was putting in more efforts to open the institute which will fill the gap of the need of a technical skill development especially among the youth.

“This is the first time a district has got a Polytechnic and this will be an opportunity for the youth as well as other members of the community to acquire knowledge and skills in technical areas,” said Jama’a.

The polytechnic will offer Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics and Electronics and Communication courses.
