Four killed, 11 wounded in 9 separate attacks in Kismayo
GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: Four people, including 2 women were killed and 11 others wounded in 9 separate landmine attacks near Bulo-Haji village under Kismayo district, on Tuesday, State Media has confirmed.
The first explosion is said to have occured after a vehicle carrying cattle headers stepped on a landmine, causing deaths and injuries to the passengers. Pictures from the scene indicate the huge impact of the blast as the vehicle was reduced into debris.
Further reports say that rescuers who were at hand to help those who were injured in the first explosion encountered a second explosion, which led to the deaths of 2 more people and injuries to 3 others.
The injured are currently receiving treatment at the general hospital in Kismayo, with Jubaland officials and security personnel expected to issue a briefing anytime now on the unfortunate incident that took place this morning on the outskirts of the coastal town.
