Four killed, three injured, including 2 journalists as vehicle hits landmine in Mataban

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BELEDWEYNE: At least four people were killed and three others, including two journalists, were injured when a vehicle they were traveling in hit a landmine near Mataban district in Hiran region.

The four people who died in the morning attack include two soldiers, a driver and a mechanic.

The injured journalists working for HirShabelle administration TV identified as Khalid Muhumed Osman (Ikacase) and Abdikarim Mohamed Siyad, were part of a convoy carrying the Governor of Hiran Region, Ali Jeyte Osman.

Al-Shabaab, which has caused havoc in the region for months now, has been accused of staging the bloody attack that took place early Monday. 

A statement by the Hiran Administration has condoled with the families of the deceased and pledged full support to the victims of the landmine explosion.
