Four Somali soldiers killed, seven injured in IED attack in Wanlawayne

At least four soldiers have been killed and seven others injured in an IED attack in Wanlawayne, Lower Shabelle barely a day after 15 people among them one soldier were killed in a khat market in the same area.

Goobjoog News correspondent in the area said the attack which happened in Ali-Gaab some eight kilometres to Wanlawayne town hit a military technical which was travelling from Mogadishu to Balidogle. The US army operates a Forward Operating Base in Balidogle.

The injured have been transported to Mogadishu for treatment, our correspondent says. A heavy blast ripped through a khat market in Wanlawayne Wednesday evening killing 15 people. The militant group Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attack.
