Storyline:National News

Galmudug State displayed on Tuesday three prisoners that it claimed to have captured from the ongoing fighting in Galkaayo with Puntland state. Puntland declined to give comments about the matter.

One of three prisoners appeared to have gunshot injuries on shoulder, while the two others looked healthy and emotionally stable.

Galmudug state police commander in Galkaayo Mahamoudnor Ali Gadar said they will restrain to do any harm against prisoners and accused puntland president Abdiwali Gas for exacerbating the fighting in Galkaayo. “Perhaps, you have heard the remarks of Puntland president, which could possibly lead to more fighting in Galkaayo. He wants to lead Galkaayo to bloodbath because he has an interest on that” Said Ali Gadar.

Yesterday, the two state forces engaged an intense fighting using heavy weapons  and motor shells. At least seven people were killed and 15 others injured.

Puntland president Abdiwali Gas at press conference yesterday in Garowe accused federal leadership for the conflict in Galkaayo. “Mogadishu is where the war is masterminded, not only in Adado. Federal government is the principle architect of the fighting and that take us to ask ourselves many question” said Abdiwali Gas.

Meanwhile, Galmudug parliament accused Puntland leadership for the continuity of the fighting in Galkaayo.
