Galmudug security minister “I escaped an assassination attempt”

The Galmudug State Minister of Security, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi who spoke to the media in Galkayo on Wednesday, highlighting security operations in Galkayo announced his escape from an assassination attempt.

“The Al-Shabaab militant group set up explosive devices at my vehicle mainly aimed to kill me but am safe and we arrested the insurgent who was behind the incident,” said the minister.

The minister also declared that the security forces had access to information from the al-Shabab leader in Mudug region as the security forces tried to catch in hand, he started fighting against the security forces later shot dead.

The minister urged the people of Galmudug to work with the security forces in Galkayo in order to protect the lives of the resident and the safety of the region.
