Government forces kill Al-shabab members in Galgadud

The security officials of federal government in Galgadud region of Central Somalia stated that they killed Al-shabab members in a clash that embarked in Some of Galgadud region.

Mohamed Kaariye Arale among the senior security officials in Galgadud region confirmed that government forces and Al-shabab confronted in areas under Eel Garas locality.

Mr. Kaariye noted that the government forces will advance to the remaining areas under the control of Al-shabab in the region adding that the forces are vigilant to put to a stop the lanned attacks of the group.

Al-shabab have commented on the claims of the security officials of federal government.

Federal forces backed by African Union peace-keeping troops have taken over many towns including strongholds of Al-shabab after offensive military dubbed operation Indian Ocean launched.
