The government forces backed by AMISOM troops have launched massive security operation in Jowhar town, the headquarter of Middle Shabelle region, on Tuesday.
These operations which took hours were conducted in some suburbs of the town such as Hanti-Wadaad.
The troops which comprised of security forces, SNA and police carried out door to door inspection which curtailed the movement of people and public vehicles.
The commander of Security forces in Middle Shabelle region, Abdiweli Ibrahim told the local media that the operations were intended to beef up the security of Jowhar town.
This is the first Somali government forces carried out security operations since Al-Shabab fighters dislodged from Jowhar town.
