Gov’t forces gun down two civilians in Afgoye district, Lower Shabelle region

Reports indicate government troops kill two civilians last night in Afgoye district of Lower Shabelle region.

Residents who spoke to the media told that the two civilians were killed by the government forces during they were passing by Hotel Ismail which locates at the center of the district.

The killing came after a conflict breaks out between the government soldiers and the two men later opened fire on them. The assailants then fled the scene a minute later when they committed the shooting of the civilians. the bodies of the deceased have been taken to the main district hospital.

This comes barely a day after another two civilians shot by a government soldier in Bondere district which caused a massive public protest in the capital Mogadishu.
