Gunmen attack Baladweyne Jail overnight

Heavily armed gunmen suspected to belong to Alshabab has launched a well coordinated attack on the main prison in Baladweyne ana have engaged intense gun battle with guards and police forces.

According to sources, the gunmen may have been trying to free one of their own jailed there, but couldn’t manage to break in to the jail.

Details are scare about the casualties on both sides and authorities are yet to comment on the brazen attack.

Government forces and AMISOM troops has been conducting continuous operations in Hiran to dislodge Alshabab from territories.
