Hawaadley police commander dies in a clash between government forces and armed militia

Heavy clashes embarked  between federal government forces and militias in Hawaadley locality in the outskirts of Bal’ad district in Middle Shabelle region.

Unspecified number of people from the warring sides including the commander of government forces in Hawaadley district Omar Hassan died during the clash.

The chairman of Lower Shabelle court of appeal Sheikh Ahmed Haji told Goobjoog FM that the security situation of the area is quite stable adding that the elders are making efforts to contain and ease the tensions.

On the other hand the governor of Middle Shabelle region Ali Guudlaawe is expected to reach the area today to take part in the efforts of solving the strain.
