Storyline:National News

Two hundred police officers from Hiiraan region have received their salaries for the second month from the local administration since funding from the federal government ceased, the region’s governor has said.

Ahmed Dabageed told the media on Tuesday the officers had all received their salaries drawn from the local administration’s own resources.

Governor Ahmed called on the officers to closely work with the people and play their role in maintaining security and stability in the region.

The governor added that his administration would continue to pay the police officers of Hiiran region since the federal government of Somalia had failed to pay its security forces.
