Historic local elections in South West

The locations of Barawa, Eelbarde, Bardaale, Hudur and Baidoa town are expecting to elect their local leaders in the 10^th of July 2017.

The Parliament of Southwest State recently ratified an Act of Law where several locations in the region will experience local elections that allow the residents to vote for their leaders.

It was May 11^th 2017 when the Parliament of Southwest State suspended the bill on Local Government elections forwarded by the local Interior Ministry but passed it on the 6th of June 2017 after amendments were done to it.
