Hyena Snatches a Baby Girl in Sool Rural Area

Reports from Las Anod town in Sool region indicates that a family has lost a baby girl after hyena-like creature snatched the baby in the early hours of the night.

Seynab Abdi Mohamed who is close relative to family has told Goobjoog News that it’s the second child the extended family has lost to the hyena.

“It was in the evening, the father and the mother were busy accounting for the animals, and suddenly the hyena pounced on the baby and run with it, the father gave a chase while the mother grabbed the family gun which she accidently fired, the father was nealy hit by the bullet” said Saynab.

The incident took place at Ari Adeye locality, just 30 km from Las Anod town.

But she doubted it was actually a hyena behind the act “Judging from the strange behavior of the creature, we have our doubts, hyena would have never dared to snatch a baby from a house where grown up people are there, we thought it was a cannibal who could change its character” said the woman.
