Intelligence agent who defected to Ahlu Sunna rejoins gov’t

GOOBJOOG NEWS|DHUSAMAREB: Galmudug President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoor Qoor has pardoned to a member of the National Intelligence Security Agency in Galmudug who returned today after defecting recently to the Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a group.

Dhamme Nur-deek Ali Abdi Farah is alleged to have seized a rifle from the group before fleeing last night. The group which was ejected from Guriel some mid last month is currently stationed in the Bohol area west of Dhusamareb.

The defector officer was taken to the presidential palace accompanied by Dhusamareb Mayor, Abdirahman Gedaqoroow. President QoorQoor commended the officer for making such a ‘brave move’ of renouncing the group and crossing over to the Government’s side.

The President then ordered that his salary be reinstated and further registered Dhamme Nur-deek’s gun which he acquired from Ahlu Sunna. Nur-deek’s family members, who attended the meeting between Qoor Qoor and Nur-deek, confirmed to the media that their kin was also authorized to privately own the rifle.

Ahmed Qoor Qoor called on anyone who wished to defect from the group to do so, promising that any person who does so will be pardoned by the state and the right to own property will be bestowed on them.
