Storyline:Science & Tech

According to numbers dug up by The Wall Street Journal, Apple sold more than 100,000 units in the first day of iPhone 6 preorders, significantly above the 30,000 Galaxy Note 4 units Samsung sold during the same period of time a month ago when the latest Note phablet launched in Samsung’s home country.
The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are scheduled to go on sale in South Korea on Friday, Oct. 31. Ahead of launch day, the three mobile carriers in the country have been taking preorders for the new devices since last Friday, Oct. 24.
And according to a new report by The Wall Street Journal, in less than an hour, preorders for the new iPhones reached tens of thousands, thereby surpassing the reported launch numbers for Samsung’s new 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 4 smartphone, which was released in South Korea last month.
KT, the first carrier to offer the iPhone in the country, said that it received 10,000 orders in one minute and 50,000 orders in 30 minutes for the new iPhones.

LG Uplus, which is offering the iPhone for the first time, said it got 20,000 orders in 20 minutes.
