ISWA president urges president Hassan to recognise security forces involved in the elections

The President of Southwest state, Shariif Hassan Sheikh Adan has called upon the President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to reward Somali security forces involved in the election with new ranks.

In a media briefing, Shariff Hassan argued the said forces have played a significant role in the peaceful conclusion of the election for both the Upper House and Lower House.

He said the troops deserve commendation and praise as they have been able to avert the security threats coming from Al-Shabaab.

“I am hoping the government of Somalia led by the President will recognise the efforts  of ISWA forces who are fighting the enemy , I am therefore requesting the President to give them new ranks in the forces especially those working on elections,” said Sharrif Hassan.

Somalia’s elections which have been going on for a month now heading last state.

he electoral process will see a total of 275 members elected to the Lower House.

Both the Lower and Upper Houses of parliament will elect Somalia’s next president in polls due at the end of November.
