Italian Government Handed Over Modern Firefighters to Banadir Region

The governor of Banadir region and Mogadishu mayor, Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow has today welcomed Italian government officials to hand over modern firefighters to his office.

Governor Yarisow thanked the Italian Government for its assistance to the Banadir region and said “that it would prioritize the availability of firefighting services to cover the needs of the people in the region.”

“I thank the officers from the Italian Civil Defense Division, who came to us today for the government to hand over this modern tool to improve the firefighting services of the city, and this is anticipation and hopefully the Italian government will still continue to help the Somali people”.

One of the Italian officers also pointed out the purpose of this equipment is to help the people of Mogadishu with the fire extinguishers to protect any fire disaster in the city.

Bakaraha market one of the biggest market in the capital Mogadishu has faced several fire disaster in the past years with no emergency response from the government due to lack of modern fire fighters in the region.
