Jubaland president accuses federal gov’t for the country’s political division

The President of Jubaland regional State Ahmed Mohamed Madobe accused the federal government of Somalia’s political division and destabilization of federal member state administrations during he attended a brief ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the Somalia Independence.

Madobe stated that the country’s long-standing conflict on issues of national security has always delayed progress and unity as that has given Al-Shabab to a valuable opportunity for political and social divisions in the country.

The federal government has reorganized Madobe as the president of Jubaland in May 2020 following the last Jubaland controversial election held in Kismayo on August 2019.

However, the president noted the National Independent Election Commission election extension behind of federal government leadership and addressed new suggestion to the election timeline in the country.
