Jubaland unveils first 14 seats for Lower House vote

GOOBJOOG NEWS|KISMAYO: The Jubaland State Indirect Elections Team (SIET) has announced 14 seats that will be up for elections in the coming days in Kismayo joining Galmudug, South West and Somaliland in conducting the much-delayed elections.

Among those vying for the seats include Mohamed Hassan Idris (HOP126), a strong ally of the Jubaland president Ahmed Madobe. Others include the former Minister of Religion and Endowments, Sheikh Nur Mohamed Hassan (HOP 093) and the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Maryan Aweys Jama (HOP 113).

The Jubaland SIET is expected to announce the election schedule for the 14 seats today. The full list of the seats and current holders are as follows:

1: HOP 028 currently occupied by Abdullahi Mohamed Aden (Sha’ir)

2 – HOP 082 Hamza Sheikh Hussein Olow

3-HOP 093 Former Minister of Religion and Endowments Sheikh Nur Mohamed Hassan

4-HOP 107 Hawa Mohamed Adan

5- HOP 108  Mohamed Ali Omar

6-HOP I11 Sagal Abdirizaq Bihi

7- HOP 113 held by the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Maryan Aweys Jama

8- HOP 114 currently occupied by Abdulkadir Mohamed Osman for the past four years

9-HOP 118 late Saqar Ibrahim Abdalla, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs

10- HOP 120  Abdikadir Sheik  Ali Ibrahim (Baghdadi) former Minister of Religion and Endowments and Minister of State for the Presidency

11-HOP 126  Mohamed Hassan Idris

12- HOP 134 Sahra Jama Ali (Qorsheel)
