One Person Shot Dead, 2 Others Injured by Jubbaland Security

Jubbaland state security today shot dead one person and injured two others during a squabble over a building construction.

The fatal incident took place in Garbaharey town, the capital of Gedo region on a construction site where the deceased was a local labourer who died on the spot while two of his colleagues got injured with multiple gunshot wounds.

Locals claim that the owner of the building known as Mohamed Kadiye is an officer working with WFP organization who bought the land 20 years ago.

The situation turned deadly when the security officers ordered the construction to be halted firing directly at the workers who were busy in their normal daily wage labour claiming that the house was located inside a public hospital land.

A resident indicated local elders and the public have gathered at the scene of the attack and the situation has turned tense.
