Politicians in Jubbaland have accused state authorities of heavy handedness on civilians following demonstrations against President Ahmed Madobe’s administration in the past three days.

Abdiwahab Osman Awale, one of the politicians, told Goobjoog News that the top leaders of Jubbaland are not addressing the rising tension in the region but instead suppressing locals from voicing their concerns.

“We have families in Kismayo but we cannot visit them as we wish,” Awale said. ““Jubbaland is ruled by the will of few people and they are not concerned with the plight of the innocent and poor people.”

The criticism against Madobe comes amid demonstrations in Gerbaharey,Gedo  region in the last three days against the Kismayu based administration. A local government was stoned during the demos Friday.

Awale pointed out that President Ahmed Madobe was not addressing the crisis in Jubbaland but instead ordered arrest of everyone who is against his administration.

“The current president state of Jubbaland is a dictator and he doesn’t obey any rule of the federal government and never addresses the difficult situation of the people under his rule,” said Awale.
