Storyline:National News

Traditional elders in Gedo region have accused Kenyan government of killing over  10 unarmed civilians after its fighter jets reportedly bombed residential areas in south of Somalia’s Gedo region.

Speaking to Goobjoog News, Elder Dahir Adan said Kenya government has committed atrocities against the civilians in the region.

He noted that Kenyan warplanes regularly strike civilian areas recklessly in the region and dozens have died for no reasons.

‘’If they think that no one will come after them for this crime, we will hold account Kenya for this unlawful crime. They are not exempted from International law and we will not allow our civilians to be killed in such a harsh and unacceptable way,’’ he said.

Kenyan military jets struck areas near El Adde, where at least 100 KDF soldiers were killed in car bomb and gun attack on AMISOM base in the area by Al-Shabab mid this month.

Kenyan military launched series of air-raids in Wargaduudo and Alwiilo localities in a revenge for the recent Al-Shabab attack on KDF base in El Adde town.

Over the last few days, Hundreds of residents fled their houses due to the ongoing Kenyan airstrikes on Al-Shabab strongholds in Gedo region which lies near Somalia border with Kenya.
