Kenya compensates KDF soldiers killed in Somalia

Calanka KenyaFamilies of KDF soldiers who lost their loved ones serving as peace-keeping troops under AMISOM received recompense reaching Sh4 million as the government revealed.

The defense ministry did not publicized the number of soldiers who died in Somalia and the amount of compensation each family received.

The government exposed that the Kenyan soldiers serving under AMISOM are paid a sh89,456 monthly payment in addition to the monthly salary paid by Kenyan government.

On the other hand the government did not made known the amount of money the wounded soldier in Somalia is allocated, but stated that it depends to the level of disability.

On Wednesday Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga demanded the government to reveal the number of Kenyan soldiers killed since they joined peace-keeping mission under AMISOM in Somalia.
