Wardi Muktar Sheikh Abdikarim was murdered on Sunday night by one KPR officers during a patrol in Eartern part of the town.

According to locals, Wardi was accompanied by a friend when he was intercepted by a group of KPR officers during a patrol at 10 pm around Moi Girls Secondary school in Mandera town.

Locals say he had altercations with the officers, prompting the officer shot and killed Wardi.

Abdi Mohamed of Wardi said his body was found dumped near the school and ferried to Mandera Referral hospital mortuary by regular Police officers.

The family members have reportedly refused to have him buried and instead sought out a  pathologist to do postmortem to determine the cause of his death.

They have called on the relevant authorities to investigate his killing and  bring the culprits to book.

A police officer who sought anonymity said the bullet wounds the slain Wardi had on his head, abdomen and thigh proves the struggle he underwent before he was killed.

This is not first case of which Kenyan forces killed a citizen in Mandera county, earlier this month  Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers have a motorcycle rider identified as Ahmed Roble and robbed locals in Lafey town, according area MP, Shabaan Ali.
