Kenyan troops allegedly kill a man in Daru-Salaam locality

Kenyan Defence Forces (KDF) under AMISOM mandate has been accused of killing innocent civilians in Gedo.

Kenyan troops have allegedly killed a man on Tuesday at a remote township called Dares-Salaam in Somalia.

One elder in that area speaking to Goobjoog News said that Kenyan army attacks civilians in the outskirts of the district adding that they will not tolerate the attacks of Kenyan soldiers on innocent civilians.

“Kenyan troops under AMISOM have opened fire on civilians and thus one man lost his live” said one resident in the area.

The elders in Gedo region have several times called on the federal government of Somalia the withdrawal of Kenyan defense forces (KDF) under AMISOM from the region.

The elder stated that they attempted to raise complaints to the government of Kenya and the army commanders on the attacks but it didn’t happen as planned.

The elders urge the federal government, UN and AMISOM to immediately intervene and save the innocent civilians that are regularly targeted.
