Khatumo: “Puntland and somaliland are attacking Us”

The president of Khatumo State, Ali Khalif Galeyr who took over the office last year, has voiced about his administration and the plans to extend the administration among the districts and divisions of the state.
Mr Galeyr who gave exclusive interview to Goobjoog News said that despite the challenges and problems facing the state, his administration managed to extend and built the regional government departments in the capital administrative of Khatumo and other towns.
“There is progress in the state, some of the government departments in many areas and we are trying at least to complete the administration soon” Galeyr said.
The regional president blamed the federal government for not supporting his state saying “ we were expecting to get support from the federal government but that it became daylight dreaming therefore I call upon the top leaders of the government to have attention and help us”
He added that he has an appointment with some of the federal government ministers as to discuss about the challenges existing in Khatumo and how to support the State.
Speaking about the recurrent clashes Las’anod town and the relations between his regional government and the two neighboring regional states, Puntland and Somaliland (self declared sate) said that the neighboring States are against Khatumo politically and militarily.
“If we could have peace, we could have done a lot of developments in Las-Anod town but Puntland State has been attacking us in recent days while Somaliland wants to take some of Khatumo towns forcefully” he said.
He added that Khatumo wants to live peacefully with its neighbors but if that fails it is ready to defend its territory.
