Lafta Gareen unveils candidates for last three senate seats

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BAIDOA: Southwest State presents list for the remaining Upper House seats

South-West State president Abdiaziz Lafta Gareen has released the list of candidates vying for the remaining three Upper House seats.

All the three seats up for grabs are eyed by male candidates, defying the 30% women quota rule which falls short by 5%.

The state elected the first five senators at the beginning of the month. Two of the senators-elect are women. They are Zamzam Ibrahim Ali and Ayan Aden Abdullahi. Elections will take place tomorrow (Sunday).

The three seats will be contested by the following candidates:

1. Hassan Hussein Haji- Defence Minister (Federal) from Garre sub-clan

Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi

2. Ali Sheikh Mohamudd Ga’al-Dir Biyomal sub-clan

Abdiqadir Abdi Ahmed

3. Abdiwali Mohamed Ibrahim- Mirifle Leisan sub-clan
