Laftagareen the newly elected president of SWS takes office

The newly elected southwest state president Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed Laftagareen is today expected to officially take the office of the SW state.

He will take over the office from the Speaker of SWS Parliament after he was appointed as the acting SWS president on November 7, 2018, following the resignation of the former president Sharif Hassan Sheikh Adan.

Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed ‘Laftagareen’, was declared as the President of South West State Somalia on 19th December 2018 after defeating four other presidential candidates.

Laftagareen was having a series of meetings with the lawmakers and politicians from the region in the last days at Baidoa town as he will officially take control of the SWS presidential palace.

After the inauguration, Laftagareen will be expected to appoint his cabinets.
