Latest Development about Skirmishes between Locals and Alshabab in Bakol

Reports for Tiyeglow district of Bakol indicates that locals have taken up arms against Alshabab fighters after the insurgents attacks villages in an attempt to collect livestock.

The residents fought back fiercely according to mayor of Tiyeglow district, the fighting resulted the death of at least one person and wounding others.

Mohamed Abdullahi, the mayor told Goobjoog that the insurgents wanted to forcefully collect taxes from the impoverished community, but met the unlikely, when the community decided to defend what’s left for them.

The mayor pledged to support the locals to resist Alshabab aggressions.
