GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Jubbaand and Puntland presidents are today expected to arrive in Mogadishu ahead of the sixth round of electoral talks with outgoing president Mohamed Farmaajo.

Madobe’s presidential elite security team landed in Mogadishu Tuesday morning ahead of his arrival this afternoon. Sources at Jubbaland state house told Goobjoog News Madobe will be making way to Mogadishu today.

Puntland president Abdullahi Deni too will be arriving in Mogadishu today, sources have intimated to Goobjoog News. The arrival of the two allies paves way for another round of talks.

A session called by Villa Somalia late last month failed to materialise after the Jubbaland Apuntland leaders kept off accusing Farmaajo of aiming to scuttle talks between Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and the Council of Presidential Candidates (CPC).

Madobe and Denui had also demanded the resignation of Farmaajo on grounds that his term in office had lapsed. The CPC which is composed of 15 presidential candidates has also made similar demands. The Council wrote to the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Sunday to pressure Famraajo exit office.

The venue of the talks at the Airforce Hangar within Aden Adde Airport in Mogadishu is set for the talks. Goobjoog News correspondent at the scene reports that arrangements for the talks at the hall have been completed.
