Madobe meets with section of the media, promises to respond to complaints

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal government of Somalia Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe) met with sections of the independent media and some representatives of the country’s media organizations.

The meeting discussed issues including preparations for Somalia’s presidential election scheduled for Sunday May 15, as well as the role of the independent media in covering the election.

Speaker Madobe thanked the media for the great role it played as the country’s watchdog role and urged them to project a unified vision in the interest of the Somali nation during Sunday’s Presidential Polls.

Members of the Fourth Estate on their part, presented their grievances to the Lower House Speaker, particularly when they were denied  access to the Afisyoni tent where presidential candidates were scheduled to present their speeches, to which the Speaker promised to loo into the matter.
