Martial court sentences suspected Alshabab members

The Somali National Army court has today sat for the sentencing of 4 suspected Alshabab members who the court previously ruled on the case but has since appealed.

Chaired by Col. Liban Ali Yarow, the court handed down 10 years prison term for Abbas Hassan Mohamed, confirming previous verdict he has appealed from. He is found guilty of Alshabab membership.

The court has also reconsidered the case of two other suspects, Mustaf Mogamed Ali and Abdirahman Jimale Moose who the court sentenced them 10 years jail each before, but because of lack of witnesses , the court handed them 6 months of rehabilitation prison.

But the court has acquitted 15 years old Shafie Hassan Mohamed for lack of witnesses. He was previously sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.
