Members of the Cabinet Pass Anti-Terror Bill

unnamed6The Somali cabinet today unanimously passed law to curb terror activities. This was after the members of the cabinet headed by the prime minister Abdiweli Sheikh Ahmed , had an indoor meeting and debated about the bill.

The law was previously passed by the cabinet but the federal parliament rejected and requested to be reviewed before the final approval for it to be enacted as a law.

In a media briefing the government spokesman Ridwan Hajji Abdiweli said the cabinet members passed the law to curb terrorism for the government to take tangible measures to improve security in the capital Mogadishu.

“We hope the recent reshuffle of the security docket will also play critical role in improving security in the country,” He said.

The cabinet has also approved the appointments of the new Somali police commissioner and the director of national intelligence.

The international community and the federal republic of Somalia have repeatedly announced to eradicate terror activities and enhance measures to limit insecurity activities take place in the country.
