GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Somalia’s Minister of Finance Abdirahman Duale Beyle has turned down summons by the Office of the Attorney General, to answer to charges related to ‘crimes related to the country’s finances and economy”.

Minister Beyle confirmed that he had indeed  received the summons but argued that the Attorney General erred in summoning him to answer to the said charges, since according to the Somali law, the Attorney General was responsible for “protecting the Government and its members before the Courts.”

However, Minister Beyle said his Ministry was ready to share with the Office of Attorney General any information required by the Office of the Attorney General.
