GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Deputy Humanitarian Affairs Minister Abdirashid Hassan has asked 16 employees who were allegedly sacked by Minister Khadija Diriye to neglect the order and resume work.

Hassan said the sacking of the 16 employees ran counter to Prime Minister Mohamed Roble’s decree on May 25, 2021, which froze the sacking of government employees until a new government is in place.

“We would like to inform all concerned workers to report to us as long as they are aware of this, and it is not uncommon in this transitional period for citizens’ rights to be violated to take advantage of the electoral situation in the country,” Hassan said.

The circumstances surrounding the dismissal of the 16 officials were not immediately clear. Diriye has not spoken publicly about the new developments.
